CT Applications

Current transformer is mainly used for measuring electric current and protecting electrical devices. In situation where the related electric current is too high for connecting to a measuring device directly, current transformer is used to measure current via the design of its current ratio. As a protecting and sensing device, it detects whenever there is current overload in the circuit.

Current transformer is used in Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), transformer, switchboard as well as for measuring house-hold electric usage etc.
